DSP Engineer (Waveform development) x 2 (SC cleared), initial 3 months contracts, Rate TBA with the successful suitably skilled applicants.
DSP Engineer with strong algorithm, mathematical and implementation skills is needed to join a highly team with a strong track record for developing a state of the art satellite modems for defence and security markets.
Applicants must be able to model and develop Physical Layer & MAC layer algorithms for satellite communications systems including, but not limited to, filtering, equalisation, modulation.
Experience with Matlab/Simulink and Xilinx tools is a pre-requisite, as is fluency in VHDL and C/C++.
Experience with resilient military waveform development is essential with commercial waveform and satellite experience a bonus.
It would also be a bonus if you have experience with System Generator or similar. Should have waveform development experience most of the of the following areas:
Spread spectrum,
Frequency hopping,
TDMA,
FDMA,
CDMA,
OFDM in satellite systems and WiMAX or similar in terrestrial systems.
An understanding Software Defined Radio (SDR) principals and the use of the Software Communications Architecture (SCA)would be a distinct advantage.
Knowledge of military waveform standards developed by US DOD (MIL-STD) and NATO (STANAG) is also desirable.

Demodulation, error correction, acquisition and synchronisation.
This key role demands that you can transform system level concepts into top level architectures and realisable designs including bit true models. Targeting primarily Xilinx FPGA Virtex families, it is important that you can partition the design to a level that can be easily distributed between a number of Firmware and Software engineers. Provide support throughout the full development life cycle to wider product development activities. This includes supporting development, integration, test, verification and validation activities. Operationally we expect that you will keep up-to-date with the latest development tools and methods.
